Social Media strategy Social Media Community Management Marketer Tech Savvy Project ManagementCreative Digital Producer Documentary Producer Academic/Lecturer Researcher Guitarist I grew up in Silicon Valley and moved to San Francisco for the exciting dot com boom from 1996 - 2001, assisting the trading floor of a multinational financial institution for Y2K before I became a Unix administrator for an Interactive TV startup (RIP). I've done tech writing for the tech jobs I've had, as well as written news copy at KCBS-AM74 and KRON. I'm also a multi award winning documentary producer (Emmy, best producer and Best Documentary, Berkeley Video and Film Festival.) My interest in technology and media prompted me to pursue a B.A, then an M.A. in Broadcasting & Electronic Communication Arts at San Francisco State University in 2007, where I went on to become a lecturer in the broadcast department. I stayed there doing double duty as lecturer and SFSU's entertainment manager until California state went bust. My research, which takes a cultural studies/critical theory approach, examines contemporary manifestations of disability in popular media; taking a critical look at the body as performance; and also the intersection of disability, activism, counter-activism and social media. I've lectured about Aesthetics of media; "If its purple, someone's gonna die"; the psychology of video editing, video field production and digital media (social media, life casting and technical aspects of outside broadcast). I teach businesses in how to manage their own social media marketing, search engine optimization, and do-it-yourself websites. In addition, I produce video email marketing and webinars. To keep my toes in TV-land, I assisted Mark Tanner in post producing the audio for the TV show Mythbusters. I'm really excited at the prospect of multi-platform storytelling and how that works in aiding social media marketing. I'm captivated by "Two Screen TV," Social TV, streaming media and love working in social media strategy and building online communities. Naturally, I love making media and never plan on stopping making artistic projects when possible.
